Rain Policy - Amphitheatre
In the event of inclement weather or other unforeseen events the performance may be held up to 20 minutes before determining if the show will continue. The show will not be cancelled before show time. Patrons should use the Kinzer Family Rain Pavilion until a decision is announced. Performances cancelled prior to intermission are eligible for rain checks which are issued at the time of the cancellation.
Performances cancelled after intermissions are not eligible for rain checks (unless Rain Insurance is purchased at $1.00 per ticket before show time) and a summation of the show will be provided. If you purchase Rain Insurance you will be issued a rain check regardless of the time the show is cancelled. Light rain is generally not grounds for cancellation; JWT works closely with local weather stations to monitor all weather activity in the area to ensure the safety of patrons and staff.
Rain checks issued if the show is canceled prior to intermission are valid for three years, Rain Insurance purchased prior to start of the show will also be valid for three years and both will be honored for future performances as payment towards tickets of equal or lesser value or as a partial payment towards tickets of greater value. Patrons must be present to receive rain checks and must redeem them for another performance within three years. One rain check per ticket will be issued. JWT cannot issue refunds.
In the event of a weather emergency, Jenny Wiley Theatre will consult with local officials and weather services to determine the extent and severity of the storm. The Managing Director and Stage Manager will assess if cast members can safely get to the theatre for a performance. The decision to cancel a performance is made no less than 3 hours prior to curtain.
If the theatre determines that a performance can be held, then the "show will go on!" A liberal exchange policy will be in effect, meaning that patrons will be allowed to exchange their tickets for future performances of the same production or a future production of equal or lesser value. If a performance is held, there are NO REFUNDS on pre-paid tickets. Patrons must call the theatre to make the exchange. Exchange tickets are subject to availability and must be completed 1 hour prior to curtain or will be considered a no show and tickets will be forfeited.
If the theatre determines that a performance can Not be held, this decision is made at least 3 hours prior to the scheduled curtain time. In this case, patrons are given three options:
1 - Exchange tickets for another performance during the run
2 - Exchange tickets for another production later in the season
3 - Transfer ticket purchase to a Jenny Wiley Theatre Donation (tax deductible)
NOTE: Tickets being exchanged on a performance which can NOT be held, must be exchanged within 7 days of the canceled performance. Tickets that are not rescheduled during the 7 day period will be converted to donations after 7 days.
